WHY DO FACIAL VEINS OCCUR?
Blue or red veins on the face are usually not a health risk, but most people don’t like how they look. These veins often form because of too much sun exposure. Staying in the sun without sunscreen or having sunburns can dilate your blood vessels. When your skin experiences sun damage, the top layer of skin can peel and make the blood vessels directly under the skin more visible.
HOW CAN THESE VEINS BE TREATED?
Our vein treatments use advanced laser technology to target and destroy the blood vessels responsible. The laser energy used causes these vessels to disappear visibly. Since the laser targets blood vessels within the vein, there is minimal or no damage to the outer layer of skin.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
During your consultation, we will evaluate your facial veins to see if our laser treatments are a good option. If so, we can begin the procedure right away. Throughout the process, you can experience a range of sensations, from tingling to the snap of a rubber band. Treatments take 5-30 minutes to perform, depending on the number of veins.
A series of treatments may be needed to fully clear blood vessels and reduce the appearance of the veins completely. Usually, 1-4 sessions are needed for desired results. Many patients experience immediate improvement in the appearance of their veins after their treatment course. Results get even better over the next week or so.
